Uber Eats is one of the most relevant food delivery platforms with over 6000 cities worldwide. MERGEPORT has introduced a bidirectional interface to integrate Uber Eats into your system.

Set the POS Item IDs via POS integration or use Uber Eats menu management to set them. Depending on the POS integration, POS Item IDs may be necessary.

Once the POS integration is active, Uber Eats deactivates the “Menu Maker” to modify the online menu and changes have to be made via the POS Menu Sync. However, it is possible to request a re-activation of the “Menu Maker” via the Uber Eats support. The MERGEPORT Support can also handle this for you.
Automatic Menu Sync
If the store is integrated with a POS Profile, the order and menu management would be done from the POS end.
Manual Acceptance can be enabled in the configuration of the Uber Eats integration at Mergeport. If enabled, the orders should be accepted through tablet/ Restaurant Dashboard. Once the orders are accepted through the tablet, they will then be injected into the POS system.
Pre Orders
Uber Eats dispatches pre orders upon creation and we forward the orders with a “preOrder” flag and the expected delivery date. ETA cannot be updated during the course of the schedule.
Delivery time updates
Uber Eats supports the update of delivery times via their API when setting a few new statuses. However, even though they emphasize the importance of accurate delivery times, they also state that the delivery time should not be set too often. We recommend to update it mainly upon “accept” and “preparing” state change.
The time sent is the pickup time for the courier. Please be aware that the courier needs some time to deliver.
You can also send the final delivery time for the end customer. In this case the POS should configure an approximate “drivingTime” in the DefaultPreparationTime in order to allow us to calculate the estimated pickup time.
